The introduction of the gift card feature presents an additional revenue stream for businesses while providing consumers with another mode of payment. This is a prevalent demand in the US market, as numerous American brands currently offer gift cards as a payment option for customers.
By adopting this feature, companies can receive payments upfront from clients to be utilized later on purchases, and customers are given the flexibility to utilize gift cards both online and in-store.
Prerequisites
All gift card features are restricted to brands that use PAR Pay’s gift card gateway (available in the US and internationally)
In-store payments are restricted to either:
- Brands that use PAR Pay’s payment processing terminals (currently only available in the US); or
- Brands that use a POS that has a native integration to the gift card provider used as part of PAR Pay’s gift card gateway
How to use Gift Cards?

- Option 1: Check natively from within the MENU mobile and web apps: To manage their Gift Cards, the customer accesses the MENU's mobile or web application and selects the "Payment Methods" or "Gift Card" module. Upon doing so, they are instantly presented with a clear view of all their gift card balances, allowing them to easily track and monitor their available funds.

- Buy and Add a new Gift Card: To facilitate seamless transactions, we previously integrated a GC-provider's website with our Management Center. When customers want to purchase or send a new gift card, they navigate to the external website and follow the prompts to input their details and complete the payment. Upon successful completion, the customer receives an email containing the gift card details, which can then be easily entered into the Gift Cards modal within our ordering apps for easy tracking and management.

- Reload a Gift Card: To complete their reload, the customer has to visit an external website (previously added in Management Center by the Brand Manager) where they can easily reload. After providing necessary payment information and confirming the purchase, the customer receives a successful reload notification. This can be done by clicking Add founds in any of the ordering apps.
