Handling POS Error Orders
What is a POS Error Order?
A POS error occurs when an order fails to reach the Point of Sale (POS) system during its transition to the Active or In-Progress state.
How It’s Identified

A POS Error event notification is triggered.

The order is flagged with a POS Error tag in the order list.

A red error box appears in the order details screen explaining the issue.
Resolving the Error
-
Manually enter the order into the POS.

Once resolved, the POS should notify the app, and the order will return to its normal state. (To be confirmed)
Completing the Order
-
Once marked as Completed, the POS Error tag is removed.
-
The order moves to the Completed Orders section with no further indication of the error.
Handling Status Update Errors
What is a Status Error?
Occurs when an order fails to update from Incoming to In-Progress.
How It’s Identified
-
A mandatory notification is shown.
-
The order is tagged with a Status Error label.
-
A descriptive error message appears in the order details.
How to Fix It
-
Open the Action Menu.

Select Refresh Order Status (only visible for affected orders).
-
The app will attempt to update the order status.
Outcomes
-
✅ If successful: A toast notification confirms the update, and the order moves to In-Progress.
-
❌ If failed: A generic error dialog appears.
Handling Internet Connection Issues
What Happens When Disconnected
-
A No Internet dialog appears.
-
The app becomes non-interactive until the issue is resolved.
How to Reconnect
-
Tap Try Again in the dialog.
-
If successful: A toast notification confirms reconnection.
-
If failed: The No Internet dialog reappears.
Manual Order List Sync
When to Use
If the app experiences an outage or missing orders.
How to Sync
-
Tap the “Sync Order List” button, or
-
Pull down on the order list screen.
Notifications
-
If up-to-date: Toast says “Order list is up-to-date.”
-
If new events are found: Event notifications will appear.
Other Errors
POS Windows Service Offline
-
A warning dialog appears to alert crew members.
Generic Failures
For actions like:

Canceling an order
-
Refunding an order
-
Resending a notification
-
Marking an order as completed
If any of these fail:

A generic error dialog is shown to inform the user.
