Combos are deals that combine multiple Items for a lower price than if the Items were ordered individually. Combos are used to up-sell a customer from ordering a single item to ordering a combination. When a customer selects an Item in the Menu that belongs to the Main Group of one or more Combos, the system will automatically ask the customer if he/she would like to order a Combo. This is controlled via the up-sell function in our system. For more information about this feature, please check out How to set up Cross-Selling? and How to add Combo Cluster? articles.
To add a new Combo:
- Click on Combos in the top navigation bar
- Combos page appears
- Click ADD COMBO
- Connect to menu: The Menu that you would like to add the Combo to. Usually you will only have a single Menu, which is already preselected for you.
- Combo name: Name of the Combo. The system creates a Combo name for each added article, which is created as follows: Item name + Combo name. This name can be adapted in the Item settings in Combo main group. For more information on Combo name, please check out How to change Combo? article.
- Hint (optional): If you have multiple Combos with the same Customer-facing name, you can use the Hint to differentiate between them. The Hint is only shown in the CMS and not to Customers.
- Show in Upsell: With this functionality, an Item is added as the Main Item to a Combo, and the Customer has the option to switch to Combo when selecting this Item. For more information on this feature, please check out How to set up Cross-Selling? and How to add Combo Cluster? articles.
- Click SUBMIT to create the Combo
- You've successfully created a new Combo. Your new Combo automatically appears, so you can continue configuring it.
To add Items to the Main Group of the Combo:
The Main Group of the Combo contains the main Items of a Combo (for example in a Bowl Combo, the Bowls), which will trigger the Combo Up-Sell when the Customer chooses one of them in the Menu.
- Click on MANAGE ITEMS for the Main Group
- Manage Items modal appears with all the Items in your Menu
- Select the Items you want to add to the Main Group of your Combo
- For Items with multiple Price Levels, select the Price Level with which you would like to add the Item in a drop down
- Use the Search bar to search for a specific Item by name
- Activate Show Only Assigned to see which Items are currently set as part of a Combo
- Click SUBMIT to add the Items to the Main Group of your Combo
- Select each Combo Item in the Main Group to open it
- Price in combos (optional): Price that is charged to the Customer when an Item is ordered in a Combo. If this price is not set, the Item's normal Price Level price is used. How to change the price of a Combo Item?
- Combos description (optional): Description for a Combo with that main Item which is shown to Customers when ordering the Combo.
- Combo photo (recommended): Image of a Combo with that main Item which is shown to Customers.
- Click SUBMIT to save your changes for the Combo Item
To add a Side Group to the Combo:
Side Groups contain Items that are sold together with the Main Item as part of a Combo. Per Side Group, the Customer needs to make one selection when ordering the Combo.
- Click on ADD SIDE GROUP
- Enter the name of the new Side Group that will be shown to Customers
- Click SUBMIT to create the new Side Group
To add Items to a Side Group:
- Click on MANAGE ITEMS for the Side Group
- Manage Items modal appears with all the Items in your Menu
- Select the Items that you want to add to the Side Group
- For Items with multiple Price Levels, select the Price Level with which you would like to add the Item in a dropdown
- Click SUBMIT to add the Items to the Side Group
- Continue by changing the price of the Combo Items
Preselect an Item in a Side Group:
You can preselect an Item in a Side Group to streamline the ordering experience for your Customers. When the Customer chooses to order the Combo, the Item will be automatically preselected for him/her and the Customer can change it if he/she wants to. Since a Customer can only choose one Item per Side Group, it is only possible to preselect a single Item in the group.
- Click on the radio button to the left of the Item name and image to preselect the Item
- If a different Item in the Side Group was preselected, it will automatically be deselected
Sorting Items in a Side Group:
You can sort Items within a Side Group to change their position when being shown to Customers by drag-and-dropping the Items in the group.
