Coupons feature allows Brand to distribute special offers to the entire app user base of that Brand. Coupons are configured in the CMS and then appear in the Mobile app, where they can be ordered directly within the app or redeemed at the Kiosk or at the POS.
A Redemption Limit for Coupon can be set per Customer, which means that Coupons can be configured one, multiple or for an unlimited number of times.
Based on the Redemption Channels selected in the add Coupon step, there are different Redemption approaches (ways in which the Coupon can be used by the Customer in the system).

Mobile App Coupon Redemption
When configured, Mobile app shows the encoded POS Redemption code when redeeming Coupon at the POS which is then scanned by the optical scanner connected to the POS system.
Mobile app Coupon Redemption approach is considered to be non-integrated because the POS Redemption Code is displayed on the Mobile app when redeeming the Coupon at the POS, so that the staff can identify the Coupon that the Customer wants to apply.
Mobile App Coupons Redemption flow:
Customer selects an Item/Combo for Item/Combo Group configured for the Coupon. The Items/Combos can be further customized (with the appropriate Modifiers) and then added to the cart.
The Price of the Coupon is then displayed and calculated.
- After the Order is complete, the Coupon Discount is then subtracted from the total amount
Kiosk Coupon Redemption
Coupons can also be redeemed at the Kiosk.
Kiosk Coupons Redemption flow:
- Customer selects a Kiosk-enabled Coupon in the Mobile app
- Customer receives a code-128 barcode in the Mobile app
- Barcode is scanned at the Kiosk
- When the Order is complete, the Coupon Discount is then subtracted from the total amount
POS-integrated Coupon Redemption
POS integrated Coupon Redemption is supported if there is a MENU Loyalty support for the POS integration.
POS-integrated Coupon Redemption flow:
- Customer selects a POS-integrated Coupon in the Mobile app
- Customer selects the option to redeem the Coupon at the POS
- Customer receives a code-128 barcode in the Mobile app
- Item/Combo is added to the POS ticket along with the Discount
- Barcode is scanned with the scanner connected to the POS
- When the Order is complete, the Coupon Discount amount is then subtracted from the total amount
POS-non-integrated Coupon Redemption
If MENU doesn't have Loyalty integration available with the POS system, a non-integrated Redemption approach is available. In order for Redemption to take place, Customer needs to select a non-integrated POS enabled Coupon and subsequently redeem it at the POS.
POS-non-integrated Coupon Redemption flow:
- Customer selects a POS-non-integrated Coupon in the Mobile app
- Customer selects the option to redeem the Coupon at the POS
- Confirmation dialog appears to confirm the Redemption with the Customer
- POS Redemption Code previously configured in the CMS is displayed with a 5-minute timer
During this 5 minute time window, Customer can show the POS Redemption Code to the staff member to redeem the Coupon. Based on this Redemption code, the staff member adds a pre-configured Discount on the POS to the ticket. However, if the 5-minute time has passed, or the Customer leaves the screen, this Redemption is tracked per Customer Account ID, or Installation ID, depending on whether the Customer is logged in, or not.
