A newly-added Key is automatically created with a DEV tag. Keys with a DEV tag can only be seen in Development Sets.
The function of a DEV tag is to mark the Keys created for the Feature that is still in the development phase and not available to Customers/restaurant Brands yet.
DEV is removed from the Key through the Notify feature. For more information on this feature, please consult with your Manager.
Enabled / Disabled
Keys can be enabled or disabled. Keys are enabled by default, unless specified to be created in a Disabled state.
Disabled Keys are only visible in the Default Set.
Strings
Strings are Key values in different languages and they represent the text that will be displayed in a certain language for the given Key.
Strings can be edited by all User Roles. Administrators can edit strings in any Set and Customizers can edit Strings in the Set they are assigned to.
Tags
AUTO
The String has an AUTO tag if it is auto-translated (through Google Translate). When a new Key is added, all the Strings are automatically auto-translated from the Core Language String (English).
String loses AUTO tag if:
- It is edited
- Administrator changes String on Default Set
- Customizer changes String on Standard Set, String gets CUSTOM tag
CUSTOM
String that has a custom value set in the Customization Set will be labeled as custom.
If User returns the String to a non-custom version the CUSTOM tag is removed.
For more information about this action, check out this article: Viewing change history
Placeholders
Placeholders are variables within a String that are not translated. The application replaces them with a certain value when displaying the String. They are created within a Key upon Adding the key.
Eg: Your order will be ready for pickup at {pickup_time}
Pickup_time: 12:00
String displayed in the application: Your order will be ready for pickup time at 12:00.
