External Channel Types can have Global and Venue level Configuration fields, configured and managed by an Administrator.
Each Configuration field has the following properties:
- API Field (e.g. store_id)
- Name (e.g. Store ID)
- Value (only in the case of Global configuration fields, otherwise this is at a Venue level)
Global-level Configuration
To add Configuration at a Global level:
- Select External Channels tab at the top bar
- For the sidebar select the External Channel Type you've created
- Click ADD CONFIGURATION in the Configuration section
- Add Configuration modal appears
- Apply to: Select Global
- Display Name: Configuration name displayed
- API Field: (e.g. external_channel_name_id)
- Enter all the necessary information in the fields
- Click SUBMIT to complete the action
- Newly-created configuration will be displayed in the Configuration section and specified as a Global-level configuration
Venue-level Configuration
To add Venue-level Configuration:
- Select External Channels tab at the top bar
- For the sidebar select the External Channel Type you've created
- Click ADD CONFIGURATION in the Configuration section
- Add Configuration modal appears
- Select Venue in Apply to field
- Apply to: Select Venue
- Display Name: Configuration name displayed
- API Field: (e.g. external_channel_name_id)
- Enter all the necessary information in the fields
- Click SUBMIT to complete the action
- Newly-created configuration will be displayed in the Configuration section and specified as a Venue-level configuration
NOTE: Global Configuration values are set at a Global level. They are not visible on a Brand or Venue level, but are accessible by the External Channel service via the External Order API.
Configuration values per Venue have to be configured / filled out at a Venue level when the External Channel is enabled. They are accessible by the External Channel service via the External Order API.
