Context
As you probably know, since we operate across the globe, Europe included, we are subject to GDPR policies - that includes your businesses as well. At PAR Ordering, we don't only have to, but want to make everything as transparent as possible.
We know that some Users have questions on Notifications - specifically, the difference between the Email and Push ones. We'll explain it, and we'll also show you how Users can opt in or out of both.
Let's start by saying: Email Notifications can be used directly as the space to store all the content you want your Customers to read, while Push Notifications are mostly a teaser - rarely would they show all the information you want to convey - except for something super short. They mostly serve as 'hey, click here to know more' kind of prompt.
Email Notifications
- long
- detailed
- containing full explanation
Push Notifications
- short
- overview-like
- enticing to click and read on somewhere else
- directing people to the App
How to opt in/out of both
So how can Users set these up the way they want them to be? Easy. They always have this option upon the first time they use the App. However later, it can always be changed in the App's Settings related to Privacy. Please note that they can set these up separately - deciding, for example, that they are ok with push notifications, but not with email. That applies to every single notification type and can be changed at any moment.
Upon first use of the app
Anytime in Settings
Please note: there's a difference in terms of what kind of notifications are pushed to logged in versus not logged in Users:
