This article shows step-by-step instructions on how to go through the Windows setup for your Kiosk or OND in order to get it ready for the PAR Ordering software installation and further support.

Preparing your Kiosk for the PAR Ordering software installation

Note: The Kiosk Hostnames will be provided by the Success Management or Onboarding Team using the Kiosk Rollout Tracker Sheet. 

1. Log in to your Administrator User and change the Hostname of your Kiosk:
   • Open Windows Settings and click on About
   • Select Rename this PC
   • Enter the provided Kiosk Hostname
     
     
     
     
2. Check the Kiosks Windows Date and Timezone Settings
   • This is important, so the Kiosk will be available during the time configured in CMS and MC
3. Download and install TeamViewer Host using this link: https://898.tv/menutech - then:
   • Configure a Computer Name and a Password (This will be a personal Password)
     
     
     
     
   • Select the option I don't want to create a TeamViewer account now
     
     
     
     
   • Your new TeamViewer ID will be shown
     
     
     
     
4. After completing the TeamViewer installation, make sure you have configured a personal password:
   
   
   
5. Add this info to the Kiosk Rollout Sheet and inform your main contact at PAR Ordering or send an email to the PAR Ordering Success Team:
   menu-csm-team@partech.com
6. PAR Ordering will connect to the Kiosks and finish the installation

What will PAR Ordering do when my part is done?

The PAR Ordering Support will install an agent to monitor the health of the Kiosk and to be able to remotely support this Kiosk. 

After the installation of this monitoring agent, we will install our PAR Ordering Software with all the needed services for it to run.

Specific Windows Configuration

For Kiosks

PAR Ordering will run a script, which includes the installation of Chrome browser and the configuration of specific registry settings as well as two new Users:

WS-Kiosk User:

This User has Administrator privileges and is used for the Kiosk installation and the MENU Kiosk Windows Service to always run with administrator privileges.

APP-Kiosk User

This User has a default password that should not be changed (the password is: Menu2021). The User is restricted and has its Windows Desktop removed. Only our MENU Kiosk APP is running on this user. This means this User has no other privileges and essentially can't do anything else. If the Kiosk restarts within this User, Windows will automatically login to this User again using the auto-logon feature. 

For OND

PAR Ordering will install an Admin User (OND-Kiosk) for setup and support purposes. The APP can run for any user.
