The Sender Authentication settings feature enables Brands to send no-reply emails from their domain (e.g. noreply@kauwelapoke.com). This way, Brands can set their parameters and send emails from their domain. This feature is set on a Brand level by a Brand Manager.
NOTE: If you are unable to set up Sender Authentication, please contact your Manager.
These DNS records associate your sending domain with PAR Ordering's. Therefore, when an email client (e.g. Gmail) processes your email, Customers will see your domain instead of menu.app.
To configure Sender Authentication settings:
- Click Brand List at the top navigation bar
- Select the Brand you want to access
- The initial Performance page appears
- Now select Brand at the top bar
- Select Sender Authentication tab
- New Sender Authentication page appears
The Sender Authentication is set to noreply@menu.app by default.
- Select Your domain option to set Sender Authentication
- New Email field appears
- Enter the email address with your domain (e.g. noreply@kauwelapoke.com)
NOTE: Please, make sure that the domain in email matches your root domain (e.g. kauwelapoke.com).
- Click NEXT to jump to the next step in the process
As a result, the API pulls the domain name from the email address and sends sender email and domain values to SendGrid (platform that manages transactional and marketing emails) in order to get DNS records that will be stored in a form of JSON, in the response in our database.
Next step contains the list of all DNS records you can add to your DNS Host.
1. Add these DNS records to your DNS Host
- After you clicked NEXT in the previous step, 3 pairs of DNS records appear per design
For example:
CNAME HOST: {{value}} POINTS TO: {{value}}
CNAME HOST: {{value}} POINTS TO: {{value}}
CNAME HOST: {{value}} POINTS TO: {{value}}
- If you click CANCEL: Email, database record and DNS records from SendGrid will be deleted
- If you click COPY ALL: You to get all 3 pairs of DNS records in the CMS; then, you can copy them and send them to your System Administrator via email, Slack or some other channel of communication.
2. Verify
- After System Administrator enters those 3 DNS records to your DNS, click NEXT to proceed to the next step
If 3 DNS records are set up correctly by your System Administrator, we will provide validation by sending a request to SendGrid.
Note: It can take up to 48 hours for records to verify after you upload them into your DNS host, so you will likely have to come back later to verify.
If the validation doesn’t pass, the reason why the record failed will be displayed in the CMS in the following way:
You can copy the message and send it to your System Administrator.
If the validation passes (message: Domain Authentication successfully verified), you can proceed to the next step.
3. Activate
At this point, the default email address is still noreply@menu.app. To activate the email address you set in the first step (e.g. noreply@kauwelapoke.com), toggle the switch and click the SUBMIT button.
-
After you click SUBMIT, all emails for that Brand will be sent from your no-reply email that has been set up
Sender Authentication successfully enabled message will be displayed.
You can restore or change the email sending settings by clicking on Change Email.
- If you click CHANGE EMAIL: Confirmation dialog appears
If you click SUBMIT, this action returns you to the initial first step (at this point records are cleared from our database and the SendGrid).
NOTE: If you close the page while the Sender Authentication process step is in progress, next time you open the page, the same step will be displayed (CMS will remember this step based on the response saved in the database).
