We have introduced a new configurable setting in the Management Center (MC) that allows brands to define their preferred order acceptance rules for serving times.
Brands can now choose from the following options:
-
Restrict to Serving Time: Orders will only be accepted if the preparation time fits within the designated serving time.
-
Allow Beyond Serving Time: Orders will be accepted even if the preparation time extends beyond the serving time, as long as they were placed before the serving time cutoff.
How to configure late preparation rules in the MC?
-
Log in to the Management Center (MC) with your Brand Manager credentials.
-
Navigate to the 'Capacity' page.
*Brand-level settings act as default values for new stores, but each store can customize them individually. - Locate the 'Late preparation rules' section.
*The late preparation rules setting applies to both static and dynamic preparation times, depending on which one is enabled for the brand. - Choose your preferred option:
-
Restrict to serving time (default): Orders must fit within serving times.
-
Allow beyond serving time: Orders can be prepared beyond serving times.
-
-
Click on the 'Save' button to apply the changes.
Web app / Mobile app Important Notes
- When 'Restrict to serving time' is enabled, the menu is hidden and unavailable for ordering if the preparation time extends beyond the serving time, even if the serving time is currently active.
- When 'Allow beyond serving time' is enabled, the menu remains visible and available for ordering until the serving time ends, regardless of preparation time.
- If Dynamic Preparation Time is enabled along with 'Restrict to serving times', an edge case may occur:
When the cart size increases, the preparation time may extend, pushing the pickup time beyond the menu’s serving hours. If this happens, an "Out of serving time" dialog will appear. Upon confirmation, any unavailable products in the cart will be marked accordingly.
