Context
Limited time product feature allows brands to limit product availability based on limited time offers, seasonal products, and can be extended to be used as a product intro gateway.
Management Center Configuration
At the product level, a brand can enable 'Custom product availability and preorder'.
Once enabling the custom product availability and preorder flag, select 'Product available as Limited time offer (LTO)'. This makes this product available only during a specific time period, based on the defined schedule.
Available for ordering and pickup window
The brand can define a preordering window, which is a date range during which the add to cart button is available. These are the dates the product is available to order on.
- Start date - Start time
- End date - End time
The start date is the start of the order window, this is the first date that ordering is available. The product will not be visible on channel apps until this date.
The end date is the end of the order window, this is the last day that ordering is available. The product will disappear on channel apps after this date.
Limited Time Availability Rules
- Start date is always required. The field is mandatory and pre-filled with the current day; the user can update but cannot leave it blank.
- If the pickup start date is not filled, a validation error: 'Please set a start date' is presented.
- End dates, however, can be left blank. This means the order will never be discontinued.
- If a date is set, it must be at least 24 hours later than the start date.
- If the user enters a time in the past, a validation error: 'Start time must be in the future' is presented.
- The user cannot enter an end time that is earlier than or equal to the start time. If so, a validation error: 'End time must be later than the start time' is presented.
Web app / Mobile app
Configuration 1
- Start date set (current time)
- No end date set
- If the product has start date only → the tag shows 'Available for order'
- Inline message shows: 'Pickup from [pickup_start_date]'
Configuration 2
- Start date set (current time)
- End date set (11:59 PM → the default value)
- If the product has both start and end date, the tag should say 'Available until [pickup_end_date]'
- Inline message should say: 'Pickup between [pickup_start_date]-[pickup_end_date]'
