Context
Preordering is essential for businesses dealing with specialized ingredients or products with long lead times. This feature enables brands to define specific ordering and delivery windows, allowing customers to place orders in advance—even if the product is not currently available.
Management Center Configuration
Enabling Preordering
At the product level, enable Custom Product Availability and Preorder to activate preordering settings.
Preorder Window
Defines when a product is available to order.
- Start Date & Time: First moment the product can be added to cart.
- End Date & Time: Last moment the product can be added to cart.
If no end date is set, the product remains available for preorder indefinitely.
Pickup Window
Defines when the product is available for pickup or delivery.
- Start Date & Time: First available pickup/delivery date.
- End Date & Time: Last available pickup/delivery date.
This window is required and must start at least 24 hours after the preorder start date.

- Start Date: Mandatory. Defaults to the current date.
- Start Time: Optional unless the start date is today. Must be in the future.
- End Time: Must be later than the start time.
- End Date: Optional. If set, must be at least 24 hours after the start date.
- No End Date: Tag displays “Available for preorder”.
Pickup Window Rules
- Start Date: Required. Must be ≥ 24 hours after preorder start.
- End Date: Optional. If not set, no availability tag is shown.
- Validation: Missing start date triggers: “Please set a start date”.
Web & Mobile App Behaviour
Configuration 1
- Preorder: Start date set, no end date.
- Pickup: Start date set, no end date.
UI Behavior:
- Tag: "Available for preorder"
- Inline Message: "Pickup from [pickup_start_date]"
- Date Selector: PREORDER FOR
Configuration 2
- Preorder: Start date set, no end date.
- Pickup: No dates set.
UI Behavior:
- Tag: "Available for preorder"
- Inline Message: "Pickup from [pickup_start_date]"
- Date Selector: PREORDER FOR
Configuration 3
- Preorder: Start and end dates set.
- Pickup: Start and end dates set.
UI Behavior:
- Tag: "Preorder until [Month Day]"
- Inline Message: "Pickup from [pickup_start_date] - [pickup_end_date]"
- After preorder ends: Tag updates to "Available until [pickup_end_date]"
For clarity, tags use the format: Month Day (e.g., “Preorder until May 25th”) when dates span across months.
NOTE : Pre ordering is not available on Kiosk.
