Context
The pandemic caused the expansion in the usage of QR codes within the restaurant industry. Restaurants often use QR codes to offer a static version of their menu in the digital form to their customers.
Scanning a QR code is convenient for most customers since major Mobile operating systems (iOS and Android) have integrated QR code recognition capability into their native camera applications to make it easier for users to scan QR codes without downloading third-party applications.
What is Dynamic Link?
In the MENU Ecosystem, QR codes could be used to direct customers towards a specific step or flow while ordering via application and improve the ordering process (reduce the number of steps needed to successfully complete the order) by using Dynamic Links. E.g. QR code takes user directly to the Store's restaurant menu with some pre-filled mandatory information. As a result, it reduces steps and time it takes to place the order. Brands can generate custom Dynamic Links that take the Customer to the respective Store upon opening the app, to a specific table in a restaurant or a specific order type...
Main benefit of this feature is that you can generate a static QR code for a Dynamic Link that you can later reconfigure to direct to a different place in your application by updating its Dynamic Link URL while the QR code itself stays the same.
The number of hits per Dynamic Link is tracked on a daily basis and Dynamic Links hits statistics will soon be available in our Management Center.
