How to use Smart Trigger?

What is it?

Smart Trigger is a feature we provide as part of the Unified e-Commerce solution. Provides to brands with an specific order flow that will serve as a solution for the following pain points:

• Gap between driver arrival time vs order readiness time
• Low food quality delivered to final customer
• Negative impact in sales

In essence, this feature will allow PAR Ordering to trigger the order preparation to the kitchen, once the driver is close enough to the restaurant.

How works Smart Trigger?

When a customer places a delivery order, our system assigns it to the best-suited driver based on ratings and proximity to the restaurant. The order seamlessly integrates into the restaurant’s Point of Sale (POS) system but it's not transferred to the kitchen. As the driver approaches the restaurant, and reaches the designated proximity a second event triggers, releasing the order to the kitchen for efficient preparation.

How to configure it?

First, brands should get in touch with their Account manager in UberEats - DoorDash - GrubHub and request this feature to be enabled for their stores. Each aggregator provides different resources and naming of this feature as it follows:

• UberEats > Fast Order Release. 
• DoorDash > AOR
• GrubHub > JIT

Within the brand-level settings in MC/Configurations/Order types, there exists a section named “Smart orders.” In this section, you’ll find a toggle button for each external channel.

• When the toggle is enabled, the system will follow the expected Smart orders flow for each external channel.
• When the toggle is disabled, the system will revert to the normal order flow for each external channel.

CMS introduce a new section called Smart Orders under Venue/External Channel. In this section, users can check whether a feature is enabled or disabled on the aggregator side. Additionally, they can retrieve the feature’s status directly from the aggregator by clicking "Fetch status".
