A Delivery Fee is a charge applied to customer orders based on the restaurant’s configured delivery zones. Restaurants can define delivery fees to help cover operational costs and improve delivery service efficiency.
Types of Delivery Fees
-
No Fee: Free delivery within the designated area.
-
Fixed Fee: A set charge applied to all delivery orders.
-
Distance-Based Fee: Charges vary based on distance, with the fee defined per kilometer/mile (depending on the venue's country).
-
DSP Fee: The delivery service provider’s (DSP) cost is dynamically passed directly to the customer.
How to add the Delivery Fees?
Brand-Level Configuration
At the brand level, you can configure a default delivery area (radius-based only) and set the delivery fee type and its corresponding settings. This predefined radius area will be available for all newly created stores as an inactive area, which stores can activate and use.
Depending on the store’s permission settings, stores may or may not be able to modify the delivery fee settings for this area.
*Important: If a brand switches from 'Edit' to 'Read-only' store permission settings for delivery fees after a store has already configured them, the store's settings will be overwritten. The store will then be required to use the delivery fee type and settings configured at the brand level.
