Delivery Zone defines the geographical area to which your Venue delivers. When a Customer specifies their Delivery Address to place an Order, the system compares the Delivery Address to all defined Delivery Zones to determine which Venue delivers to the Customer.
You can assign a Delivery Fee and/or a Minimal Order amount to a Delivery Zone. Multiple Delivery Zones can be added for one Venue.
- Select your Venue from the Venue List in the top navigation bar
- Click on Areas in the top navigation bar
- Click on the Delivery area in the sidebar
- Click on EDIT MAP
- Full-screen map appears
- Click on the Polygon tool and draw your new Delivery Zone on the map
- Once you've completed the Delivery Zone, a new form appears
- Enter a name for your new Delivery Zone
- Click SUBMIT
- Settings for your new Delivery Zone are shown in the middle column
- Delivery fee: Select an existing Delivery Fee or create a new one (check out How to add a Delivery Fee?)
- Minimal order amount (optional): Minimum Order Total (excl. Delivery Fee) that needs to be met to be able to place a Delivery Order. If the Minimal Order Amount is not reached, the difference is charged as a Minimum Surcharge.
- Click SUBMIT to save your changes
Overlapping Delivery Zones
If you have one Delivery Zone and want to create another that overlaps with the existing one, the area of the newly created zone will be subtracted from the existing Delivery Zone (e.g. Zone 1, Zone 2 and newly created Zone 3).
Export Delivery Zone as .KML file
.KML file is used for expressing geographic annotation and visualization within two-dimensional maps and three-dimensional Earth browsers.
MENU Users export KML file for External Channels (e.g. Uber Eats) and download their Delivery Areas and Minimum Order Amounts.
To export Delivery Zone as .KML file:
- Select your Venue from the Venue List in the top navigation bar
- Click on Areas in the top navigation bar
- Click on the Delivery area in the sidebar
- Click on Export.KML button below the Delivery map
- You can open this file in Google Earth or some other program that supports .KML file
Import Delivery Zone as .KML file
Restaurants often create polygons for Delivery using Google's My maps feature and later use the exported .KML file to import polygons to different platforms. That's why MENU enables this in the CMS.
After importing the external map, the feature has the same behavior as when the user adds a polygon area to its map.
This way the user is able to import created Delivery Zones from the Google maps and production Delivery Zones, as well.
To import Delivery Zone as .KML file:
- Select your Venue from the Venue List in the top navigation bar
- Click on Areas in the top navigation bar
- Click on the Delivery area in the sidebar
- Click on Import.KML button below the Delivery map
- Imported zones are visible on the Delivery map (Zone 1 and Zone 2)
NOTE: If the imported zones overlap with the already existing ones, they will be merged on the map.
